Refunds and Cancellation Policy

We cannot provide any refunds if you want to cancel your booking or cannot make the class.  We advise you to check your diary and travel plans in advance before purchasing any class. You can always transfer your booking to a friend should you be unable to attend a class, however we will not be able to reserve a place for you in another future class.

In the unlikely event The Cake Botanist has to cancel a course you will be offered a full refund or, if you prefer, transferred to another course (subject to availability). We shall only be liable for the cost of the class and not any consequential loss.

Payment & Booking

-Full payment is required to confirm your place in a class

-You will receive an email from us within 24 hours of your booking

-Your space is fully confirmed once you receive a confirmation email from us (if you do not receive please email info@thecakebotanist.com)

-If you are booking a class for someone else please let us know when you make the booking and inform us of the attendees’ email address

Foreign Students

Do note that we cannot issue refunds if your visa application is not approved. We cannot help you to get a UK Visa, you need to make your own application to your British High Commission for this process. Please give ample time for visa procedures and then book join The Cake Botanist for a class when it has been successful.

Photos and Videos

We may occasionally take photographs for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed please let us know, you will not be photographed without your permission. By agreeing to be photographed you are consenting to any photographic material to be used by the Company for promotional purposes only. No photographs of children will be taken/used without express permission of the parent or guardian.

Age Requirements

Our classes are for adults, the minimum age for students in the classes is 16 years old unless otherwise stated.  We have the right to refuse entry and take responsibility for children and refunds will not be given.  If you have queries please contact us at info@thecakebotanist.com.

Personal Safety in Class

You agree to take all reasonable care while on our premises and only use equipment in the way taught. We shall not be held responsible for any injury if you fail to follow instructions on use of equipment. All accidents/injuries must be reported to the tutor immediately.

General

-By viewing our website or making an order you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions.

 

-You are responsible for ensuring you arrive in time for the start of your class. Tutors will not run through missed content as this would be to the detriment of other students. You are advised to arrive 15 minutes before the class starts.

-We reserve the right to change the course and workshop content at any time.

​-Pricing: we reserve the right to change our pricing at any time and the prices are current at the time of booking.  We are under no obligation to issue a refund or gift voucher for any class booked outside an offer or sale that might occur.

-Our timetable is always changing and we cannot guarantee that specific classes will be open throughout the year. If you’re looking to book for a specific class or time please email us to see what we can do for you

-You are strictly prohibited to use any of the class notes, designs, photography or materials from our classes for your own classes or business

Allergies

All our cakes contain butter (dairy), gluten (wheat), and eggs, unless mentioned otherwise. Products containing nuts within the recipe will be listed. However, ALL our products are made in an environment that handles nuts and alcohol.

Delivery and Setting Up

- We are able to offer a setup service where required. The delivery and set up of our cakes is carried out by The Cake Botanist herself and in the event she is unavailable, a member of her team will take over.

- This service will incur a charge. With this service, we will deliver and set up your cake as agreed, and ensure it is left displayed to its utmost perfection.

-Please check you have given us with all necessary set up details and arrangements made with the venue for the location and setting of your cake.

-The Cake Botanist offers a cake stand hire. A hire fee plus a security deposit is required in advance. It is the Buyer’s responsibility to return the cake stand/s after hire to The Cake Botanist's Studio address within 7 days. The deposit will not be refunded in the event that the stand/s is/are damaged, or returned after 7 days. The Cake Botanist is not liable for any damages that occur to the cake stand before we receive it back. Once the stand is returned within the given timeframe and we are satisfied that it is not damaged we will issue a refund to the Buyer.

-Please also check with the venue that a strong, stable table is available and whether you require a cake knife or Cake Stand that cake be rented from The Cake Botanist.

-The Cake Botanist will require a signature for the Delivery Note from the venue or a person you have appointed beforehand confirming the cake has been received and set up in good condition. 

-Cakes collected from The Cake Botanist's Studio requires a signed Delivery Note by the person picking it up to say that the cake has been received and that it arrived in perfect condition. Damages from this point are not The Cake Botanist's responsibility. All The Cake Botanist's cakes are fragile and require attention and care when handling, storing, and displaying. 

-A photograph of the cake will be taken prior to departure by The Cake Botanist to check against the delivery note should The Cake Botanist be setting up the cake on your behalf..

-Please note that chocolate ganache or buttercream finished cakes can melt in warm conditions, such as inside a marquee or on a hot day, or when positioned in direct sunlight. A shelf life and Best Before Date will be provided on the Delivery Note.

-The cakes may contain non-edible ingredients or decorations, such as plastic dowels in stacked cakes or wires in some sugar flowers. These will be mentioned in the Delivery Note and must be removed before eating.

Privacy Policy

-This privacy policy sets out how The Cake Botanist uses and protects any information that you give The Cake Botanist when you use this website. The Cake Botanist is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. The Cake Botanist may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. When you purchase a class from the website, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, telephone numbers,  address and email address.

-We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure. We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties at any time. We do not record or keep any financial information at any time.

-When you browse through the website and classes, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our website, new classes and other updates.
-When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

-If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

-How do I withdraw my consent?
If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at info@thecakebotanist.com.
